Tim Williamson is the President of NOLA Media Group, Louisiana’s largest media company reaching over 7 million consumers per month. NOLA Media Group’s portfolio of businesses include The Times-Picayune, the 179-year-old trusted journalism voice, and NOLA.com, the largest online platform dedicated to New Orleans news and information and Mardigras.com.
Tim is a dynamic and profit-minded senior business leader with undisputed historical success in launching and managing new business concepts as well as sales and marketing campaigns to build major revenue streams.
Tim began his career in 1987 by being selected into the highly competitive training program at Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York City. In 1993, he launched his first startups in the video marketing industry in Boston and Atlanta. In 1996, Tim joined Cox Interactive Media to manage the startup and growth of internet studios in New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and Omaha. Since 2000, Williamson played an integral role in catalyzing New Orleans’ entrepreneurial movement by founding and leading The Idea Village, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in New Orleans.
Williamson is a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program, New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute, and CABL’s Louisiana Leadership program. Tim was named one of Gambit’s “40 under 40,” recognized as a 2009 YLC Role Model, 2004 Junior Achievement’s Rising Star Award and received the “Heroes of the Storm” award in 2008. New Orleans CityBusiness named Tim one of the 35 “Driving Forces” in New Orleans since Katrina and he was elected to the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame in 2015.
Williamson, a New Orleans native, received a B.S.M. in Finance from Tulane University in 1987.
