Robert Wooley is an attorney at Adams and Reese, where he represents clients before state insurance departments across the country, and provides political and governmental relations counsel. Robert is the former Commissioner of Insurance for the state of Louisiana. In that role he managed more than 250 employees and a multi-million dollar budget, and regulated the licensing and compliance of all insurance companies and agents operating in the state.
Robert was Louisiana’s Insurance Commissioner during Hurricane Katrina, and he led his office in successfully helped thousands of Louisiana citizens with their insurance matters, implementing a number of emergency orders that helped to stabilize the marketplace and protect citizens. These orders also protected the industry by retaining insurance companies writing business in the State of Louisiana.
Robert’s other government service includes appointments as First Assistant Secretary of State as well as Executive Counsel to the Louisiana Secretary of State.
