Director of Innovation and Digital Solutions, Risk Engineering, Zurich Insurance
Norman leads the Innovation and Digital Solutions initiatives for Zurich North America’s Risk Engineering team, which works closely with customers to provide meaningful insights that help them efficiently and effectively manage their risks, prevent losses, and improve business resilience. Norman evaluates and implements innovative technologies in Risk Engineering to support these goals and deliver services digitally. One of those exciting innovations is exploring the use of data collected by drones/unmanned aerial vehicles in risk assessment, catastrophe response, and how they can benefit our customers.
Norman works closely with Zurich’s Community Investment team and their support of SBP, the New Orleans-based national disaster preparedness and recovery nonprofit. Leveraging Risk Engineering’s expertise in resiliency and emergency preparedness, SBP’s Disaster Resiliency and Recovery Lab developed an educational curriculum designed to train homeowners and small and mid-sized businesses on how to better prepare against wind and water damage that could have a detrimental impact to their communities.
Norman received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. In 2012, Norman received the Arthur Quern Quality Award from the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS). Norman is based in New York City.
