Former Commissioner, City of New York – CBI
Nazli Parvizi joined CB&I’s Resiliency practice in 2015 with a focus on New York City projects, particularly the $3 billion FEMA allocation towards Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), which CB&I project manages. Prior to this, she served as the Commissioner for the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU) under Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, she was also appointed Director of Brooklyn Recovery Efforts and established the community outreach efforts for both the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Recovery (HRO) and the Special Initiative on Recovery and Resiliency (SIRR). Nazli graduated with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Biology from Barnard College of Columbia University. She lives in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn with her husband and toddler.
