Executive Director, Southeast Louisiana Legal Services
Laura Tuggle is the Executive Director of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS). She previously managed SLLS’ Housing Law Unit during the years immediately following Hurricane Katrina from 2005-2010 after having been a staff attorney there from 1994-2005. She also served as General Counsel and Director of Client Services as part of a reform administration at the long troubled Housing Authority of New Orleans. Prior to joining civil legal aid, she also worked at the New Orleans Pro Bono Project as the Homeless Advocacy Program Manager and as their first Staff Attorney. Over her 20-year public interest career, she has excelled in many areas including direct services, systemic work, and policy advocacy.
