Professor of Government and Faculty Associate, Center for Disaster Research and Education
Kirsten Bookmiller is a Professor of Government, a contributing faculty member to the MS in Emergency Management program and the Director of Global Partnerships at the Center for Disaster Research and Education at Millersville University. She teaches, researches and consults in the international disaster relief policy and law field. Her current research agenda focuses upon identifying and fostering synergies between the international humanitarian and domestic emergency management fields.
In addition to a book underway on international spontaneous volunteers, titled The Episodic Humanitarians, recent publications appear in The International Law of Disaster Relief, Disasters and International Law, Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and International Journal of Emergency Management. She is also co-founder of the American Society of International Law’s Disaster Law Interest Group.
