Project Scientist II and Willis Research Fellow, NCAR Earth System Laboratory
Dr. James Done is a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and he is research lead for NCAR’s Capacity Center for Climate and Weather Extremes. In this role Dr. Done works with stakeholders from the energy, water and insurance sectors to understand future weather and climate impacts. Central to this effort is the development of the Global Risk, Resilience and Impacts Toolbox (GRRIT) – a suite a public domain tools based in the latest science to support societal planning and management of weather and climate extremes. The foundation of GRRIT is massive environmental databases that GRRIT taps into and mines for the appropriate details, and feeds information back up to decision-making tools.
