David Pooser is an Associate Professor and the IIANC-NCSLA-W. Kurt Fickling Distinguished Chairholder in Risk Management and Insurance in the College of Business at East Carolina University. David received his Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University in 2012 and served on the faculty at St. John’s University’s Greenberg School of Risk Management from 2012 until 2023.
David has published research in risk and insurance journals on a variety of topics and currently serves as Secretary for the Southern Risk and Insurance Association. David previously served on the Board of the Big I of New York and currently serves on the Advisory Council for The Institutes Griffith Insurance Education Foundation (“The Institutes Griffith Foundation”).
The Institutes Griffith Foundation is a nonprofit, non-partisan, non-advocative, educational organization. Its programming helps public policymakers better understand the principles underlying today’s dynamic risk management and insurance issues. In keeping with its mission, all programs are strictly instructional in nature, and do not support a position on any issue.
