Executive Director, Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans
Cedric S. Grant is the Executive Director of Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. He oversees a $3.3 billion capital improvement program comprised of over 600 projects that will create 20,000 construction jobs.
He is also the immediate past Deputy Mayor of Facilities, Infrastructure and Community Development for the City of New Orleans. In that role he oversaw capital development related to the New Orleans recovery valued at over $1 Billion. Previously, Mr. Grant served as Chief Administrative Officer of Ascension Parish, Louisiana where he was responsible for management and oversight of all governmental operations for this Parish.
Mr. Grant also served as Deputy Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. As Deputy Secretary, he was responsible for the daily operations of the department, public-private partnerships and major economic development capital projects and he managed a workforce of 5,000 people and a $1.4 billion budget.
Mr. Grant has worked in several other distinct appointments in local government and public agencies. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer, for the City of New Orleans; Director of Capital Projects, for the New Orleans Downtown Development District; and Planning Manager, for the Port of New Orleans.
He served his country in the US Army and completed 23 years of active and reserve service. He retired in 1995 with the rank of Major.
A New Orleans native, Mr. Grant is a certified City Manager and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Political Science from Xavier University of Louisiana.
