Rural communities confront a set of challenges in making their communities’ economies more resilient to natural hazard and environmental risks where a “one size fits all” approach to economic development, recovery, and resilience planning simply does not apply. During this session, panelists will discuss ideas, strategies, best practices, and lessons learned from past disasters and successful resilience building efforts that can be considered and applied given the resources, infrastructure, manpower, and geographic barriers unique to rural communities.
