Cyber attacks are one of the gravest threats to our national security and resilience. Whether financially or politically motivated, a cyber attack upon a community’s systems and infrastructure can cause widespread and prolonged disruption of essential government functions. Communities must understand their vulnerabilities and be able to maintain and recover critical operations should a serious attack occur, just as they would in preparation for other natural or manmade disasters. to deploy resources and communicate with response partners to combat cyber crime and mitigate adverse effects and expedite recovery in the face of an advanced cyber incident .
