The vulnerability to and threat of differing acute shocks and chronic stresses is not uniform across communities, which means preparation, impacts and responses will vary both on the regional scale and even between communities in the same area. Still, many of these issues will look the same across the country and programs to develop broadly applicable solutions to common problems should be examined. Identifying which impacts are best suited to these efforts necessitates regional collaboration that engages academia, business leader, state and local government, philanthropists, and NGOs. This panel will examine the opportunities for regional actors and thought-leaders to leverage their common problems and collective experience to develop turnkey solutions as efficient vehicles for investment.
