2025 Call for Proposals

 

 

 

This call solicits speaking and presentation opportunities for conference programming taking place March 11 – 13, 2025 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Attendees will represent a diversity of sectors involved with resilience and disaster management including public and private sector resiliency officers, practitioners, private companies, policymakers, trade associations, coalitions, advocates, educational institutions, etc.

Important items to keep in mind when submitting a speaker proposal

 

Highly Encouraged Elements:

  • Learning Objectives – clear, achievable audience takeaways
  • Interactive component – such as Q & A or other audience participatory activity
  • Support Materials – physical or downloadable information reinforcing application of skills learned or implementation of best practices

 

DO’S

  • Diversity & Co-presenting – presentation submissions are encouraged to reflect a diversity of presenters, including race, gender, industry, sector, geographical region, country, and viewpoint.
  • Presentation Format – highly interactive and audience participatory elements such as roundtables, Q & A, AMA spotlights, or brief workshop activities, case studies, concrete lessons learned, technical information and materials that practitioners can apply to their own work are strongly encouraged.
  • Creative Facilitation – presenters are encouraged to consider ways to engage the audience and make their session interactive and creative. Collaborative formats (peer discussions, panels, fireside chats) are preferred.

 

DON’TS

  • Presentations of academic or scientific studies are not encouraged unless the study has resulted in a best practice application or program.
  • Speakers may not endorse specific products or services in their presentation. Private sector submitters may not use presentations as a means for business development or sales (there will be other opportunities at ResCon to conduct business development.)

  • Deadline for Proposals: October 1, 2024
  • Notification of Speakers: November 2024
  • Conference Sessions: March 11 – 13, 2025
